Boys’ basketball: Kilpatrick forfeits title, out of playoffs

Kilpatrick has forfeited its Southern Section Division 6A basketball title and has been removed from the state playoffs for using a player who had already exceeded his athletic eligibility.

No section champion will be crowned in the division and Sierra Canyon, which was scheduled to play Kilpatrick in the first round of the Southern California Division 5 regional playoffs, will receive a bye to the next round.

‘I’m brokenhearted,’ Kilpatrick Coach Kurt M. Keller said.
