I’m at the Alemany-Crespi Division 4A basketball final at Mater Dei, and I can’t believe what I’m seeing, and I’m not talking on the court.

I see Jon Mack, the former Ventura St. Bonaventure football coach and a Sherman Oaks Notre Dame grad, cheering for Crespi. It’s strange and hard to believe. Of course, he is the Celts’ new football coach.

And on the other side, I see Dean Herrington, who was at Newhall Hart so long he probably qualified for Social Security, cheering for Alemany. Of course, he’s the Alemany football coach.

The fans on both sides are so loud I need ear plugs. And this is Orange County, not the San Fernando Valley, right? What’s going on here?

Crespi, after trailing, 19-6, has taken a 27-25 hafltime lead on a three-pointer at the buzzer by Blake Stanton. And it’s loud, did I mention that?
