Baseball: Flores' home run wins Trinity League game

Dante Flores hit a three-run home run in the seventh inning to give Bellflower St. John Bosco a 5-4 victory over Santa Margarita in a Trinity League game on Saturday.

Koby Gauna went the distance to pick up the pitching victory for the Braves, who are 7-3 overall and 1-2 in league.

Woodland Hills Taft (8-2) won its sixth consecutive game with a 13-2 win over Westlake. Art Chavez threw a three-hitter. Mike Hymes hit a grand slam. Sophomore Mike Colon had a home run and four RBIs.

La Mirada defeated Simi Valley, 9-1. Mitch Petersen allowed four hits in six innings.

San Pedro (9-1) defeated West Torrance, 14-5, getting 18 hits. Jacob Johnson led the way with three hits.

Mission Hills Alemany (10-3) defeated Quartz Hill, 7-3. Andrew Davidson broke a 3-3 tie with a two-out, two-run single.

L.A. Cathedral (8-2) swept a doubleheader from Cantwell Sacred Heart, 14-4 and 14-6. In the first game, Jaime Figueroa went three for three. In the second game, Figueroa, Kyle Merrill and Joe Gonzales had two hits apiece.

Phantom Fan

Coach Scott Pearson has the Phantom Baseball Team Rolling now. The Phantoms will win the Camino Real league with no problem. Good job Phantoms and keep it going .
