Baseball: Arleta opens East Valley League with win
Arleta (7-2, 1-0) began East Valley League play on Monday with a 20-2 victory over Grant that was called after five innings because of the mercy rule.
Ryan Sanchez hit a three-run home run for Arleta. In another East Valley opener, Sun Valley Poly (5-6, 1-0) defeated Canoga Park, 14-1, under the five-inning mercy rule.
