Baseball: Brown gets six RBIs for Chatsworth

Chatsworth (4-1) won its fourth consecutive game behind junior Aaron Brown, who picked up the pitching victory and also had a double, triple and six RBIs in a 14-2 win over Lancaster. Steve Karkenny added two hits.

Valencia West Ranch (4-1) defeated Oxnard Rio Mesa, 11-3. Sophomore JC Cloney struck out six in four scoreless innings. Sophomore Josh Heinz had two home runs and four RBIs.

Mission Hills Alemany defeated Reseda Cleveland, 8-5, in nine innings. Alemany came back from a 5-1 deficit in the seventh. Anthony Esparza had a two-run double in the ninth to win it. Sophomore Peter Van Gansen had two hits and threw a scoreless eighth and ninth. Ross Zelen and Jayland Bland had two hits each for Cleveland.

Taft defeated Pasadena Marantha, 2-1. Junior left-hander Zack Friedman struck out seven and threw a four-hitter. He’s 2-0 and has allowed one earned run in 13 innings.

St. John Bosco defeated Long Beach Poly, 8-4.

Granada Hills Kennedy defeated Canyon Country Canyon, 2-0, on a five-hitter by Lenny Diaz.

Dana Hills defeated La Mirada, 5-1. Brian Choi hit a two-run home run. Arleta defeated Oxnard Pacifica, 11-0. Javy Lopez threw a complete game with eight strikeouts.

Simi Valley defeated Buena, 10-2. Reece Schmidt had four RBIs.

Montclair Prep outlasted Granada Hills, 10-9. Max Fried hit two home runs and had four RBIs. CJ Picerni had three hits and three RBIs.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame defeated San Marcos, 4-3. David Armendariz picked up the save. Morgan Walberg had two doubles.

Newhall Hart defeated Harvard-Westlake, 8-2. Luke Persico had three hits for Hart.

San Pedro defeated Mary Star, 13-1, with Ronnie Galosic getting three hits.
