Sherman Oaks Notre Dame track coach Joe McNab has produced two former state 100-meter champions in Justin Fargas and Rodney Glass, so when he says he has a special freshman, it’s time to take notice.

Khalfani Muhammad already made an impact playing running back for Notre Dame’s freshman team last fall, but McNab can’t wait for Muhammad to show what he can do running sprints for the Knights next month in track.

He posted some of the best times in the country when he was in middle school, and McNab said, ‘He hates to lose, even in workouts. He’s very talented.’

Whether he’ll be ready to take on the best in the Mission League this spring remains to be seen, but McNab is one of the best in developing young sprinters, so watch out.
