Starting this fall, City Section football programs will no longer have a freshman-sophomore team. It has been changed to junior varsity, allowing juniors to play on the team. The change was approved Monday by the City Section Interscholastic Athletic Committee.

Also approved was a new soccer rule effective next season, where any student who chooses to participate on a professional soccer league academy team will not be eligible to play for his high school team during the same season. Woodland Hills El Camino Real has used players during the playoffs who didn’t play in the regular season because they were involved in the academy league.
