Boys’ basketball: Harvard-Westlake clinches title

North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake won its 19th consecutive game and clinched the Mission League championship with a 57-18 victory over Los Angeles Verbum Dei. Erik Swoope had 17 points for the Wolverines, who are 21-4 and 13-0 in league.

It was the 12th league title in 25 years of coaching for Greg Hilliard.

Los Angeles Loyola cruised to a 77-39 Mission League victory over West Hills Chaminade. Ryan Oliver scored 17 points, Miles Cartwright 14 and Joe Stein 14.

Encino Crespi defeated La Canada St. Francis, 59-41. Mission Hills Alemany defeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, 64-63, on Jerico Richardson’s layup with 6.7 seconds left. Alemany is 7-6 in league while Notre Dame dropped to 6-7.
