Boys’ basketball: Fairfax takes over second in Western League

Los Angeles Fairfax has taken over second place in the Western League after a 68-63 victory over Palisades. The Lions are trying to get a top four seeding in the City Section Division I playoffs.

Jordan Weathers had 20 points and Raymond Barry 19 for the Lions in their Wednesday victory. Fairfax is 13-8 overall and 6-3 in league. The Lions play in Saturday’s Nike Extravaganza at Santa Ana Mater Dei against Marietta, Ga. Wheeler at 5:30 p.m.
