The season is over for Oak Park and freshman guard Ron Lee Jr., but in the coming years, Oak Park fans are going to be excited by what Lee accomplishes.

All signs point toward Lee becoming a standout guard.

‘He’s going to be real good,’ said assistant coach Ed Chevalier, who coached plenty of top guards during his days as a coach at Thousand Oaks and Oak Park.

Lee didn’t have the greatest of games last Friday night in a playoff loss to Cerritos Gahr, but he’s 6 feet 1, with a good body and improving strength, and he has the genes to succeed. His father, Ron Lee, was a Hall of Famer at Oregon and first-round pick of the Phoenix Suns. He has a cousin who’s 6-10.

The younger Lee moved to Oak Park in the sixth grade from Sweden. And now it will be fun to monitor his progress over the next three seasons.
