Baseball: Edison, Chatsworth receive national ranking

Huntington Beach Edison is ranked No. 3 and Chatsworth No. 17 in a preseason national baseball ranking by Maxpreps.com.

Let me just say I’m a little stunned about Chatsworth, since I haven’t even concluded that the Chancellors are the best team in the City Section.

But based on reputation and past performances, the Chancellors certainly should hold their own.

Personally, I like Encino Crespi, La Puente Bishop Amat, San Juan Capistrano JSerra and Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley to be elite teams. And in the City Section, beware of Harbor City Narbonne, Wilmington Banning and Woodland Hills El Camino Real, all of whom have an outstanding pitcher.
