A dozen Mater Dei athletes ready for Wednesday

There's a reason Santa Ana Mater Dei is known as a sports powerhouse. The Monarchs have top athletes in a variety of sports, and 12 will be featured during Wednesday's letter of intent day.

Among the athletes participating in a morning signing ceremony: football players Matthew Billeci (Brown), Fred Eggert (Georgetown), Chris Ward (UCLA); gymnast Natasha Katzaroff (Oregon); girls' soccer players Nicole DePuy (Santa Barbara), Danielle Mabie (Barry) and Lainey Prioleau (Columbia); track and field athletes Brooke Arthur (California) and Michael Woepse (UCLA) and water polo players David Guibord (Santa Clara), Alex Wherry (UCLA) and Neal O'Hara (Harvard).
