Senior guard Lauren Rock injured her knee last week during Mater Dei’s last game at the Nike Interstate Shootout in Oregon.

Mater Dei coach Kevin Kiernan said Rock had an MRI two days ago, and the results won’t be available until until Jan. 13.

‘She is one of our best defenders, and we’re pretty defensive-minded,’ said Christine Collins-Kiernan, Mater Dei assistant coach.

Rock is Mater Dei’s second starter who is out with an injury.

Junior forward Alexyz Vaioletama is sidelined with stress fractures in both of her shins.

‘If [Vaioletama returns] that’s a total bonus, if she doesn’t, we’ve been prepared for it all season,’ Collins-Kiernan said.

Mater Dei (14-0) is the top-ranked team in the nation, according to Maxpreps and ESPN.
