Girls’ basketball: Brea Olinda pulls off the upset against Mater Dei

Superman had his kryptonite---so does Mater Dei.

It’s green and white and called Brea Olinda.

Brea Olinda, ranked No. 3 in the nation by Maxpreps, upset top-rated Mater Dei, 47-43, tonight at the Tony Matson Memorial Classic.

Mater Dei was previously undefeated, and it suffered its only loss last season against Brea Olinda in the Southern California division II regional championship.

Sophomore forward Jeanier Olukemi led Brea Olinda (15-2) with 17 points.

Junior guard Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis had 23 points for Mater Dei (17-1).
