Football: Jon Mack is Crespi's new coach
Jon Mack has agreed to become the football coach at Encino Crespi after three years of being the head coach at Ventura College. He will be introduced to players at an afternoon meeting.
It's a huge victory for the Celts to successfully lure a coach with the stature of Mack, who had a 163-47-1 record in 17 years at Ventura St. Bonaventure and won seven Southern Section championships until his decision to switch to the college level.
His return to high school coaching adds to the talent-rich private-school coaching roster in the Serra League and Trinity League. Earlier this week, Harry Welch was hired as the new coach at Santa Margarita.
Now the focus turns to Los Angeles Loyola, which has been taking a slow, deliberate process in filling its coaching vacancy.

Jon Mack interviewed twice for the job. His hiring was confirmed on Thursday. His wife was part of the deal. She will carry his clipboard. We wish him best in his new challenge. What he says to the Ventura County Star will be interesting. Now who will Loyola hire to compete with Crespi? Rumor has Dean Herrington.

Mack said his Notre Dame friends support him in his decision and he's not taking anything back.

Ok Eric, you had the chance, did you ask the question you posted on this website to the new Crespi coach? "Do you take back all those nasty things you said about Crespi when you were coaching at rival Sherman Oaks Notre Dame?" And what was his response?

Hey Eric,
He lied to you earlier in the week or lied to the Ventura County Star
