The Orange County Register has reported that Servite Coach Troy Thomas will return as football coach next season. The paper attributes that conclusion to Servite President Pete Bowen.

There have been lots of rumors about Thomas returning to his alma mater, Encino Crespi, which is looking for a new football coach. In fact, a Crespi spokesman refused to confirm or deny that Thomas was a candidate, and Thomas hasn’t returned phone calls or text messages.

So until Thomas announces something, it’s wait and see in my book.

Servite would be foolish to let him go but the Friars had better pay him well considering what other private schools are supposedly offering coaches these days.
