Cross country: Arcadia’s Mousse is Gatorade runner of the year

Ammar Moussa from Arcadia has been selected the Gatorade boys’ cross country runner of the year in California.

Moussa, a junior, won the state Division I championship with a time of 14:59. He finished fourth in the Nike Cross National finals and took first at the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships.

‘I’ve been coaching for 30 years, and I think Ammar is a once-in-a-lifetime athlete who will one day be competing at the Olympics,’ Arcadia Coach Jim O’Brien said.
