Santa Monica opened the season ranked in the top 25 by The Times and proceeded to lost three of its first four games.

But the Vikings (8-5) have won four of their last five games following a 71-43 victory over Redondo (10-3) on Wednesday night that snapped the Sea Hawks’ nine-game winning streak. Corey Walker had 23 points for Santa Monica, which also has a recent victory over regionally ranked Thousand Oaks and might be on the verge of cracking The Times’ rankings again.
