Boys’ basketball: Santa Monica defeats Etiwanda

Santa Monica, ranked No. 23 in the Southland by The Times, defeated No. 17 Etiwanda, 60-47, in a feature game of the Martin Luther King Classic on Monday night at Los Osos High.

Corey Walker scored 15 points and Solomon Singer added 14 points and 9 rebounds for the Vikings (12-5), who won their seventh consecutive game and avenged a 50-42 defeat at the Holiday Hardwood Invitational at Oaks Christian High December 28.

The loss snapped a five-game winning streak for the Eagles (13-7).
