Boys’ basketball: Price, Etiwanda are big winners

Allen Crabbe scored 34 points and Richard Solomon added 22 to lead Price (16-1), ranked No. 7 in the Southland by The Times, to a 77-65 victory over No. 15 Gahr tonight in the Pangos Dream Classic at Long Beach Cabrillo High. Ervin Ware had 16 points and nine assists for the Gladiators (14-2).

In the biggest upset of the night, Byron Wesley had 17 points for Etiwanda (11-6) during a 58-52 victory over No. 6 Compton Centennial (10-4). Deonte Burton had 20 points for the Apaches.

Anthony Brown scored 32 points and Avery Johnson had 27 for No. 10 Ocean View (12-3) during an 81-69 triumph over La Verne Lutheran (8-7). C.J. Cooper had 29 points for the Trojans.

In other games, St. John Bosco defeated Dominguez, 51-42, and Long Beach Cabrillo edged Paramount, 67-63, in overtime.
