Boys’ basketball: Cochran Classic Saturday at LACES

An 8:30 p.m. matchup between Price and Gardena Serra, ranked fifth and sixth by The Times, highlights the seven-game slate at the Johnnie Cochran Jr. Classic, scheduled for this Saturday at Los Angeles Center for Enriched Studies. The field includes three teams top-ranked in their respective CIF-SS divisions (Serra in 3A, Price in 4AA, and Renaissance Academy in 5A).

Further south, a pair of Southland teams will take part in the San Diego Coaches Classic Shootout at Carlsbad High. #16 Chaparral will face host Carlsbad in the opening game at 3:30 p.m.
