Basketball: Extravaganzas slated for Saturday (updated)

Another January Saturday means another lineup of extravaganzas in Southern California.

The Southern California Shootout at Azusa Pacific University has nine games scheduled. Among the participating teams are Times’ #13 Murrieta Valley, #17 Etiwanda, and #19 Upland. Further west, the War On The Floor Extravaganza at El Camino Real High also has nine games on tap, with Times’ #5 Price the top attraction.

On the distaff side, the Ayala Extravaganza features six members of the Times’ Top 25. The final two games of the day will feature #13 Diamond Ranch against #17 Ventura (7:30 p.m.) and #3 Long Beach Poly against #7 Bell-Jeff (9 p.m.)

Finally, Times #2 Westchester will travel to West Virginia for a Saturday night game against New York Rice. The Comets are ranked seventh and Rice 24th in the ESPN RISE national rankings.
