Baseball: Alvarado, Zamora to receive Lasorda Award

Granada Hills Kennedy Coach Manny Alvarado and Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley Coach Bob Zamora will receive the Tommy Lasorda Lifetime Achievement Award during a high school baseball coaches’ reception Tuesday in the Stadium Club at Dodger Stadium.

The award is given for recognition as an outstanding baseball coach.

Alvarado is entering his 22nd year at Kennedy, where he has won five City Section championships. Zamora is entering his 33rd year at Capistrano Valley, and his teams have won six Southern Section championships, including last season’s Division I title.
