Girls’ Basketball: Saturday Nike Tournament of Champions Update

HoopGurlz just tweeted that Sheila Boykin scored 15 points to lead Long Beach Poly to a 58-54 victory over Middle Village Christ the King (NY).

This means that the two top girls’ basketball teams in Southern California will face off on Monday, when the Jackrabbits play Mater Dei in a semifinal at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.

Earlier today, Mater Dei defeated Upper Marlboro Riverdale Baptist (Md.), 66-56. Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis scored 18 of her game-high 25 points for the Monarchs in the fourth quarter.

Brea Olinda is also advancing to a semifinal on Monday.

Keitra Wallace scored 20 points for the Wildcats, which defeated Mt. Lebanon (Pa.), 58-48. Brea Olinda will play against Stockton St. Mary’s, the top-ranked team in the nation, according to the Daily News.
