When quarterback Matt Moore led Newhall Hart to a 13-0 record in 2001, he was on top of the world. He had his scholarship to UCLA and everyone was predicting great things ahead.

There were bumps and slumps along the way, but Moore is finally getting the respect he deserves after guiding the Carolina Panthers to consecutive victories over quarterbacks named Brett Favre and Eli Manning. Today, he completed 15 of 20 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns in a 41-9 victory over the New York Giants.

Here’s a story from this season about Moore’s return to prominence. And there’s still another Moore headed to the high school ranks in the coming years. Matt Moore’s 11-year-old brother, Nick, is a receiver who plays youth football in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Nick was the boy Hart coaches couldn’t keep track of when he was repeatedly running around the field. Now everyone is growing up, and his big brother has become a name player in the NFL.
