I don’t want to get Crenshaw fans too excited or disappointed, but CalHiSports.com has come out with its final rankings, and it has Crenshaw meeting Concord De La Salle in the Open Division of the CIF state championship bowl games. The 10 section commissioners will be meeting today to make the decision.

CalHiSports’ other matchups: Nevada Union versus Oceanside in Division I, Rocklin versus Anaheim Servite in Division II, Marin Catholic versus Gardena Serra in Division III and Modesto Christian versus San Diego Parker in Small Schools.

The commissioners usually take into consideration the CalHiSports rankings. Whatever happens, it’s clear that Crenshaw, Servite and Serra will be the Southern California bowl representatives, and their fans should be excited to come out to the Home Depot Center on Saturday.

And let’s hope for no rain. My shoes are already covered in mud from walking on the fields at the rain-drenched Coliseum and Angel Stadium on Saturday. My question: How did those players ever run very hard in such difficult conditions? I can tell you I had trouble walking, let alone running.
