Boys’ basketball: Fairfax wins Durango tournament

Los Angeles Fairfax (8-1) continues to make strides toward becoming a top team, and the Lions came up with their biggest victory so far on Wednesday night, defeating Georgetown Prep, 52-46, in the championship game of the Las Vegas Durango tournament.

Tournament MVP Jordan Weathers scored 13 points, as did teammate Raymond Barry. Laik Carter added 10 points and nine rebounds. Point guard Donte McFrazier made the all-tournament team.

Fairfax will begin play in the Torrey Pines tournament on Saturday.
