Baseball: Roosevelt promotes assistant coach

Los Angeles Roosevelt has named assistant coach Ray Ruiz its baseball coach, replacing Scott Pearson, who resigned.

Ruiz served as Pearson’s top assistant from 2004-06 before leaving for Cantwell Sacred Heart and then returning last season as an assistant. He is a Roosevelt grad.
