A perfect day for football at Home Depot Center

There couldn't be better weather for today's CIF state championship bowl games at Home Depot Center. No excuses for attendance, either.

There are three outstanding teams from Southern California ready for action _ Gardena Serra, Anaheim Servite and Los Angeles Crenshaw. I expect all three to show how good they truly are.

First up is the Division III final with Serra, which has as many future college prospects as any team in Southern California. Whether Serra wins or loses, the happiest person on the field will be Serra basketball Coach Dwan Hurt, who will be soon adding five players from the football team to his already talented 7-1 basketball team.

I hope all the SO. Cal teams represent us victoriously.

CRENSHAW NATION!! AND THE REST OF CRENSHAW FANS I EXPCECT TO SEE YOU GUYS ALL THERE TONIGHT.

REPRESENT THE CITY SECTION.

Here is a favorite quote of mine. It comes from rocky III
Apollo to rocky...
"If you stand toe-to-toe with this bum, he'll kill you. It doesn't take a man to stand there and get your head beat off...! He's just a man, Rock, so be MORE man than him! Go get him; Eye Of the Tiger!"

We all know De La Salle is no "bum". I hope coach Garrett and the rest of the crenshaw coaching staff have these boy well prepared and that the cougars come out to play with "THE EYE OF THE TIGER"
