The football team at Los Angeles Loyola won’t be making the Southern Section playoffs, but the Cubs’ water polo team continues the quest for an unbeaten season.

They defeated Los Alamitos, 12-7, to advance to the Division I semifinals. Loyola is 31-0, quite a feat in a tough division. The Cubs are the lone Los Angeles team left and will have to deal with Orange County powers Newport Harbor, El Toro and Corona del Mar.

Nikola Vavic scored six goals for the Cubs.

Next up is a semifinal game against El Toro Wednesday at the John Argue Swim Stadium.
