Mater Dei to have 11 players sign Wednesday

Santa Ana Mater Dei is scheduled to have 11 of its students sign letters of intent on Wednesday, the first day for high school seniors to sign with colleges for sports other than football, soccer, water polo and track and field.

Among the signees will be baseball players Cory Hahn (Arizona State), Derek Campbell (California) and Jacob Medina (Loyola Marymount). Campbell originally committed to Oklahoma State.

In boys' basketball, there's Gary Franklin (California), Keala King (Arizona State) and Tyler Lamb (UCLA0. In girls' basketball, there's Shayla Batson (Northern Arizona) and Alexandria Thomas (Cal State Fullerton).

In softball, there's Amy Nunez (UC Davis) and Carly Wade (Stony Brook). In swimming, there's Melissa Bates (California).
