Division I: #1 Granada Hills d. #2 San Pedro, 25-17, 25-20, 25-9
Division II: #3 Taft d. #1 Venice, 25-18, 25-22, 16-25, 25-19
Small Schools: #1 Foshay d. #3 Elizabeth, 25-14, 25-13, 25-9
Well, I thought Granada could take Newport Harbor - but Newport's #20, Kirby Burnham was a human sledgehammer on the court tonite. She made the kind of vicious kills that make it obvious why USC wants her next year. She's part human, part Terminator. Granada Hills just couldn't answer. Newport Harbor advances 3-0.

No blog post about the CIF State championships? Okay - I'll do it. All three City champs play tomorrow in the 1st round of the state championships. Granada Hills draws the very strong Newport Harbor in Div 1. Taft hosts Elsinore in Div II and Foshay goes up against Bishop School in Div IV. Good luck to all the City Champs!
