Football: Lakewood wins, 34-17
Lakewood scored again in the final minute on a 21-yard touchdown pass from Jesse Scroggins to Darius Powe and has advanced to a Pac-5 Division semifinal with a 34-17 victory over Bishop Amat.
The game was much closer than the final score. Lakewood trailed until Kevin Anderson returned a punt 64 yards for a touchdown late in the third quarter. Scroggins finished the game with four touchdown passes.

Lakewood will soon be getting a big slice of humble pie when the boys from Edison come rolling over their defense.

You mean an example of poor winners, right? High school kids need to be taught sportsmanship. Lakewood took a knee the play before and Amat was allowing them to run out the clock. I'm ok with my teams losing, I just hate it when they lose to teams with no class.

The game was already won. If Lakewood had scored on a run, okay, but a pass? The classy thing to do was to take a knee, plenty of other classy teams did this on Friday. But I guess Lakewood needed something to cheer about since they won't have much to celebrate next week.
