West Hills Chaminade freshman point guard Jaron Martin made his first basket a memorable one, throwing in a shot from the opposite free-throw line at the end of the second quarter in his team’s 53-40 victory over Pasadena La Salle in a first-round game of the Burbank tournament.

Martin finished with 12 points. Senior Jamal McClerkin, who took one day off after playing football, led the Eagles with 17 points and eight rebounds.
