With thousands of spectators and more than 7,500 athletes competing in 55 race events, a group of girls’ rowers from Los Angeles won the Women’s Youth Four event at the Head of the Charles Regatta in Boston on Sunday.

Representing the Marina Aquatic Center, the rowers included Maureen O’Hanlon from El Segundo, Chelsea Shannon from North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake, Meghan Costopolous from Los Angeles Marymount and Grace Riccardi from Los Angeles Marlborough. The boat was coxed by Shannon Sullivan from Marlborough.

The Head of the Charles is the largest two-day rowing event in the world.
