The faithful from Westlake Village Oaks Christian are growing a little restless. They think their 7-0 team should be ranked ahead of 7-0 Los Angeles Crenshaw based on the fact their team beat a nationally ranked team from the state of Washington, Skyline.

But the Lions apparently want to ignore the rest of their schedule and ignore Crenshaw’s schedule, so let’s do a little comparing.

Crenshaw has beaten Lakewood, which leads the Moore League; beaten Norco, which leads the Big VIII League; beaten Fontana Miller, which leads the Citrus Belt League, and beaten Culver City, which leads the Ocean League.

Oaks Christian’s schedule includes wins over 1-6 Pasadena Muir and 1-6 Long Beach Jordan, plus 4-3 Mission Hills Alemany and 6-1 Venice. Not once have the Lions had to play tough opponents in back-to-back weeks.

I conclude Crenshaw’s schedule is better, but if the Oaks Christian fans still can’t accept that, Crenshaw Coach Robert Garrett says, ‘We’d love to schedule a game against Oaks Christian.’
