City Section signs contract with Nike

The City Section has reached agreement on a five-year ball contract with Nike that will bring in $30,000 a year in cash payments, Commissioner Barbara Fiege said Monday.

An additional $50,000 in products will go to the City Section over the length of the contract. City athletic teams will be required to use Nike balls in the sports of football and basketball during the playoffs.

Wilson had the previous ball contract for football and basketball. The City is expected to seek a contract for other sports from other vendors.
