Football: Impressive debut for freshman QB

Kelly Hilinski, a 6-foot-5 freshman quarterback at Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, completed 16 of 23 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns in helping the Knights’ freshman team defeat Orange Lutheran, 34-20, on Thursday.
I don’t attend too many freshman games, but I wanted to see if all the talk about Hilinski being a future college prospect was true. And the answer is yes.
He has a terrific arm, shows excellent leadership skills and his enthusiasm is contagious. It’s going to be interesting watching his development this season.
And Orange Lutheran’s quarterback, A.J. Holman, also made a good impression. He ran 65 yards for a touchdown on the game’s opening play.
