Football: Craver is out at Artesia

September 30, 2009 | 12:32 pm

Aaron Craver took Compton Centennial to the playoffs but he won't be able to repeat that success at Artesia, where he has been replaced as head coach after only three games by assistant Joe Veach, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram.

The manner in which Craver departed is in dispute. Craver told the newspaper he was fired, but Artesia Principal Sergio Garcia said he resigned. Craver played in the NFL from 1991-99 and was coach at Centennial for five years before coming to Artesia prior to this season.

Artesia, which has lost its first three games and has been outscored, 122-20, plays host to Villa Park on Friday in its final nonleague game.
