Boys' basketball: Mater Dei's King picks Arizona State
Keala King, the 6-foot-5 shooting guard who transferred from Compton Dominguez to Mater Dei, has committed to Arizona State, according to Monarchs Coach Gary McKnight.
Mater Dei could have as many as three Pac 10 Conference-bound players, with Tyler Lamb bound for UCLA and Gary Franklin Jr. having committed to USC before withdrawing his commitment in the wake of Coach Tim Floyd's departure.
The Monarchs had five Division I-bound players in their starting lineup for much of last year before losing in the Southern Section finals and early in the state tournament. It will be interesting to see whether they can live up to the lofty expectations this time around.

Sure, King just happened to pick Mater Dei all by himself. If Mater dei gets away with this again, the CIF should just make recruiting in high school legal. At least this would get rid of the cover-ups by ALL involved.
