Baseball: UCLA, USC ready to sign players

UCLA and USC are finalizing commitments for the early signing day on Nov. 11 in baseball. Here's a look at Southern California products scheduled to sign.

For UCLA, the No. 1 player is probably pitcher Peter Tago of Dana Hills, who could be a candidate to be a high June draft pick. Also set to sign are infielder Pat Valaika from Newhall Hart, pitcher Adam Plutko from Glendora, infielder Jacob Shirley from South Hills and pitcher Zack Weiss from Irvine Northwood.

USC has commitments from catcher Jake Hernandez from Los Osos, outfielder Angelo Gumbs from Torrance, outfielder Frankie Christian from Upland and pitcher Bobby Wheatley from Orange Lutheran.
