Boys’ basketball: California Supreme makes 14 three-pointers

With Santa Ana Mater Dei’s Gary Franklin Jr. making seven three-pointers and finishing with 23 points, California Supreme defeated Playaz Basketball Club (N.J.), 97-86, to reach the championship game of the Reebok Create-N-Finish Cup in Las Vegas. California Supreme made 14 three-pointers as a team.

Keala King, also expected to be at Mater Dei this fall, scored 21 points. Jamaal Franklin had 17 points and Kevin Johnson 15. And the reinforcements are on the way, with Tyler Lamb and Dwayne Polee Jr. expected to arrive for tonight’s 8 p.m. final against Texas Bluechips Navy.
