TV contract with Southern Section comes to a close
A three-year contract that Prime Ticket had with the Southern Section to televise high school games and have the right of first refusal ends this week.
Prime Ticket has made a new offer to the Southern Section, but that was rejected. Officials for both organizations are expected to meet next month to try to come up with terms for a new deal.
The question is whether there's an alternative to Prime Ticket. The Southern Section has 579 high schools and wants more than just money. It wants exposure, and the growth of the Internet creates opportunities for others. But in a tough economy, it makes sense for Prime Ticket and the Southern Section to stick together.

agree with eric.
I think It's a good marriage that needs to continue. PT game coverage has been excellent and good exposure for the SS. Work it out, y'all.
Internet coverage is on the rise and will be the future for HS sports. But, it is a few year from being a major player. I think down the road the competition and more coverage will be a win, win for HS fans.
the pisser is that most of 579 schools have limited budgets and limited resources will never get any coverage. How do we shine some light on them?
that's why we need to keep the fox hs weekly report, the LAT / DNews HS reporters, as well.
