Football: Lakewood QB gets USC offer

USC has apparently made the decision that it wants Lakewood quarterback Jesse Scroggins. WeAreSC.com is reporting that the Trojans made him a scholarship offer after his participation in the Rising Stars camp.

Of course, Scoggins has to make a decision if he'll fit in at USC. He also has offers from Florida and Tennessee.

Congrats on the USC offer! That's great news. USC is set for quite a while with Barkley, but Jesse could come in and start in three or four years.

Tennessee is really the place to go. The depth chart is much friendlier, and it's pro style with a coach who was in the NFL.

Also, I hope Jesse doesn't trust what Florida tells him. Remember what Jevon Snead said about how Florida lied to him? Jesse's advisors should make sure that doesn't happen to him.

I'm sure Scroggins is great and all, but honestly we'd rather have a true Florida boy like Tebow or Brantley winning our rings for us down herr!!!!!!

Whatever James, Florida wouldn't lie to anybody about anything. Ya'll are just jealous of the dynasty CUM has created. We don't even need Scroggins. He's better off riding pine behind Barkley for 4 years (which is what he'll do) than going to play at TN.

Why would any QB want to go to USC? Guaranteed bench time the whole time. UT is the way to go, solid coaching staff, QB coach was Drew Brees' coach, solid supporting cast. Sorry, I love USC but go to Tennessee Jesse

The playing time is there, the coaching staff is great and will get you ready for the NFL, and the defenses you face week-in and week-out in the SEC will have you better prepared for the next level than if you spend 4 years at USC. Tennessee will be behind you???? Is that guy serious? They ran Phil Fulmer, who had like an .800 winning percentage, out of town. They ran Johnny Majors, who is a UT legend and won most of his games, out of town. They ran another coach Bill Battle, who won 70 percent of his games, out of town. And last year, they BOOED the players in several losses --- AT HOME. Yeah, they'll really be behind you --- with a foot on your butt if you don't meet their redneck expectations. UT has one national title in the past 50 years. 50!!!!! and they needed Florida to miss a 30-yard field goal to win it.

I lived in north florida for 8 years and saw heaps more rednecks in north and central florida then I have ever seen in memphis and knoxville (where I've lived for the past 8 years)...

gainsville = north central florida = deep south = deeper than knoxville
