Football: Steinberg is new head coach at Corona Santiago

Jeff Steinberg said Wednesday he has agreed to become the football coach at Corona Santiago and will be on the field Thursday for spring practice.

Steinberg has been the coach at Fontana Miller for the last three years. Before that, he built Ridgecrest Burroughs into a small-school powerhouse.

He’s known for his innovative passing schemes, and he’ll inherit one of the top quarterbacks in the Inland Empire in Duke-bound Brandon Connette.
