Baseball: West Valley teams advance to City semifinals

It will be an all-West Valley League semifinal in City Section Division I baseball. Top-seeded Reseda Cleveland defeated Garfield, 9-6, in a quarterfinal game on Friday. John Wilson got the win and the save, having to come back in the seventh after leaving the game in the sixth. Nick Kaid had three hits.

No. 3 Woodland Hills El Camino Real defeated Wilmington Banning, 14-5. Michael Booth, Mitch Bluman and Ivan Vela hit home runs. Booth went four for four with three RBIs.

Granada Hills defeated fourth-seeded Harbor City Narbonne, 10-7. David Park hit a three-run home run, Mike Acosta had two hits and Elie Gluck came through with the save.

No. 2 Chatsworth beat L.A. Bell, 14-1, in five innings. Andy Weissberg had a three-run triple and four RBIs.

It will be El Camino Real at Chatsworth and Granada Hills at Cleveland on Wednesday, with the winners advancing to next Saturday’s final at Dodger Stadium.
