Track: Arcadia Invitational is Saturday

Get ready for the best track meet of the season. It’s Saturday’s Arcadia Invitational at Arcadia High School. The first running event is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The best track-and-field athletes in the state and some from outside California will converge for this annual meet.

My interest centers on the invitational mile that will be run close to 6 p.m. Sophomore Elias Gedyon from Los Angeles Loyola is entered in his first big high school mile. It will be interesting to see how fast he runs.

There are lots of other great athletes, including Randall Carroll from Los Angeles Cathedral and Reggie Wyatt from Riverside La Sierra.
