A source close to the family of elite Fairfax High senior center Renardo Sidney has told The Times the player has produced a passing SAT score, but has still not officially signed a letter of intent with USC.

Sidney’s exact SAT score was not revealed by the family source, who declined to be identified because of his profession.

Universities rely not only on the SAT score but a combination of the test result and grades in 16 core classes the student is enrolled in.

The family source would not describe Sidney’s USC signing as imminent and a strong SAT score may present Sidney other options to choose from, although the player has expressed a strong desire to play for Coach Tim Floyd.
