King forward Kawhi Leonard, The Times’ player of the year, was among the seven local players selected today as recipients of the John R. Wooden High School Player of the Year Awards.

The other winners were Westchester’s Dominique O’Connor in the City Section, Eisenhower’s Andrew Bock in Division II, Harvard-Westlake’s Erik Swoope in Division III, Bishop Montgomery’s Justin Cobbs in Division IV, Windward’s Darius Morris in Division V and Besant Hill’s Yannick Atanga in Division VI.

Each winner receives a plaque, $400 in his name donated to his high school’s athletic fund and will be recognized during the Wooden Award gala Friday that also honors the college basketball players of the year.
