Senior catcher Nick La Face of Sherman Oaks Notre Dame earned some respect Saturday night when he won the home-run derby for the Anderson Bat National Classic, perhaps the most prestigious tournament in the Southland.

Each of the 16 participating schools had two players entered in the home-run derby, and La Face ended up with 13 home runs in three rounds.
